Mission Together for June 2023.

The Open Table Church is hosting a table at the Cincinnati Pride Festival.  The festival is on Saturday, June 24th at Sawyer Point from Noon to 9 p.m.

We need volunteers to supply items we need for the table and bring the items to Lee Side Wellness on Sunday, June 18th.

Most importantly we need volunteers to help staff the table at Sawyer Point on Saturday, June 24th.  A map will be provided with the location of our table as soon as it is available from the festival coordinators.

Please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up. Thank you!

We will  be handing out rainbow heart stickers, offering free "Mom" Hugs, and inviting people to fill out ribbons to display, finishing the prompt "I am___________."

On Sunday, June 24 we will  gather at 10:30 at Lee Side Wellness (3615 Socialville-Fosters Rd, Mason) to share our experiences and reflections and to meditate and review the answers on the ribbons and pray for those who filled them out.

You are also encouraged to respond to this letter from Austen Hartke:

I hope all is well with you! I’m sure you’ve seen the rise in hate and legislative restrictions that are currently affecting transgender communities in the US, and I really appreciate that churches like yours are looking for ways to protect the most vulnerable. I wanted to reach out with an opportunity to deepen that allyship with trans folks during Pride Month.

As you know, in addition to writing and speaking I’m also the Executive Director at Transmission Ministry Collective, an organization dedicated to the spiritual care, faith formation, and leadership potential of transgender and gender-expansive Christians. Our programs include support groups, leadership formation, Bible studies, and more. As an organization that is trans-centered but not trans-exclusive, we also seek to provide support and learning opportunities for cisgender family members, friends, and ministry professionals.

Many of our members in states such as Tennessee, Montana, Utah, and Florida are currently describing increased difficulty accessing medical care, community support, and other critical needs related to their physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. This makes the connection and community we offer all the more critical.

June is Pride month, an opportunity to uplift and celebrate LGBTQI2A+ people and recognize them as beloved children of God. Would you consider [a donation] to TMC during the month of June? This video provides more information about our work
